How to get the City to do things for you

Call them at 831-648-3100 M-F & complain!  That's right, forget the social taboo that one should not complain. You can also complain to the police directly at 831-648-3143  24 hours a day.

The city employees have put in an excellent labor saving idea of the city not having an official complaint form.

You can write the Mayor and/or City Council, 300 Forest Avenue, P.G., Calif. 93950. But don't expect an answer from any of the City Council members as I have never got one reply from any of the many letters I have sent them.  2000 is an election year and this year we have four City Council seats up for grabs. Let's hope someone gets elected who knows how to respond to mail.

Got  a sewage spill? Call & complain. They aren't likely to find these things out by themselves &, in our opinion, most likely don't want to. If it's a weekend, you'll have to call the police station in order for them to call Public Works.  Don't call them via 911 unless it's real important. Calls to 911 often bring the fire department, two or three squad cars & the paramedics. Even if you so much fall down on the sidewalk, expect this sort of response.

You can write Email to city employees, the format is: first initial last name @ci.pacific-grove.ca.us
e.g. jdoe@ci.pacific-grove.ca.us     It seems hit or miss on whether you'll get a reply from them. Most respond very quickly, others not at all.

If you have tried these & have not got an answer or results in three days, your next best option is to come into the office at 300 Forest Avenue & see them in person. This often gets excellent results.
